Located at the top of a hill overlooking the Silver Lake Reservoir in Los Angeles, the Silverlake Hill House redesigns and expands an existing two-story single family house to serve the lifestyle of a young family. Two rectilinear volumes puncture through the existing house, jogging the façade and carving out spaces for the different members of the family and their activities. The new volumes connect the interior to the newly designed outdoor spaces and beyond to the views of the lake and downtown LA. An accessory dwelling unit (ADU) that faces the main house will sit above the existing garage.
